Carnifex Mardi Gras 4

  1. CARNIFEX MARDI GRAS 4 - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on a 11 x 14 size coquille board. It appears in the book, "CARNIFEX MARDI GRAS," by John F. Carr, published by Pequod Press in 1982.

So here again, I used "patterns" to jazz up a drawing; the grillwork in the background, the carvings on the fancy lamp post, the designs on the woman's gown at the right side of the drawing.

In any project that includes multiple drawings, each drawing needs to be unified in some way with the others; by style, by layout, by technique, or even by the design of a common border. The amount of embellishment I would do on a drawing depended on how many drawings were required and how much time I had to do them.
